Unique late 1800s early 1900s hand-painted on cow shoulder blade butcher's tradesign. Depicting a carcass bleeding out. Original mounting present. Approx 60 cm with chain 90 cm. In beautiful, original condition. Amazing piece of folkart history.

 

Pair of ebonised wooden early 1900's circus clown barrels. Nice patina, not heavy we're faux strongman barrels used in clown act. Both approx 130 cm'ers long.

Set of 3 trenchart WWI snake sticks. Handcarved, intitials, snakes, floral designs, date 1917. All 90 cm'ers long. Rare pieces.

All original, 1930'ties circus fairground boxing troup banner. Handpainted onto thick canvas. Approx 290 cm'ers high, 285 wide.

These traveling boxing tents invited local men to challenge their boxers for a prize, often resulting in a practical boxing lesson for the challenger. The troupe's leader would invite showgoers to "throw on a glove" and challenge one of his boxers or wrestlers for a prize of "a round or two for a pound or two".
